Biography

Wu Mengran graduated from Sichuan Conservatory of Music, majoring in Erhu Performance. She is currently a member of the Chinese Bowed String Music Society under the Chinese Musicians Association. She started learning the Erhu at the age of six and has studied under Professor Ye Xiaojuan from Xiamen Music School, Professor Liang Yunjiang and Lecturer Song Huali from Sichuan Conservatory of Music. She once served as the principal Erhu player of Xiamen Youth Traditional Chinese Orchestra and the Teaching Supervisor of Xiamen Lvshanhai Music Education Institution. She boasts solid performance skills in both solo and ensemble Erhu music, rich frontline teaching experience, team management capabilities and practical expertise in rehearsing and conducting traditional Chinese music ensembles. She has long been engaged in aesthetic education through Erhu teaching, committing herself to popularizing traditional Chinese musical instruments and promoting fine traditional Chinese culture.

Performance Experience

1. During her tenure as the principal Erhu player of Xiamen Youth Traditional Chinese Orchestra, she took part in numerous public performances including special concerts, charity shows and cultural & tourism official galas, accumulating extensive practical experience in ensemble and concerto performances.

2. In 2019, she was invited to perform in the special concert *Ode to Rivers and Mountains* held by Xiamen University to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and successfully completed the entire professional performance.

Work Experience

September 2018 - April 2021 | Xiamen Xinxian Art Studio**

She worked as a full-time Erhu teacher. Meanwhile, she was employed by Xiamen Wuyuan No.2 Experimental School as a teacher of traditional Chinese music and conductor of the school's traditional Chinese orchestra, responsible for daily rehearsals and ensemble arrangement of the music club.

May 2021 - December 2024 | Teaching Supervisor, Xiamen Lvshanhai Music Education Institution**

She was fully in charge of establishing the Erhu teaching system, managing teaching staff and supervising teaching quality. She delivered Erhu courses for learners at all levels, and coordinated the rehearsals, program arrangement and various student performances of the learner orchestra.
