Zhang Su Wen

I have learned to play the piano since childhood and have a deep passion for music. I joined the New Zealand Chinese Orchestra in 2024, working as a percussionist and keyboardist. Though I play in a supporting section of the orchestra, I add rich layers and vivid tones to the musical pieces, just like adding the finishing touch to a masterpiece. I keep learning and progressing within the orchestra, exploring the unique charm of traditional Chinese folk music alongside my fellow musicians. I also take an active part in the orchestra's publicity work, hoping to do my part in promoting Chinese folk music overseas. I believe passion never comes too late. With persistent dedication, every seed we sow will quietly grow as time goes by. I also look forward to seeing more people pay attention to, get close to and fall in love with Chinese folk music after listening to it, and together experience the glamour of traditional Chinese music culture.
